Fieldguard is a mobile application designed to provide real-time air threat alerts and emergency notifications. The app monitors selected regions and sends push notifications when air alerts are issued, helping users stay informed about potential threats in their area.

Getting Started

1. Initial Setup

  1. Download and install Fieldguard from your app store
  2. Launch the app
  3. Choose your subscription option:
    • Free Trial: 7-day trial period
    • Organization Key: Enter your organization's license key

2. Region Selection

  1. Tap the "Regions" tab at the bottom
  2. Browse available regions
  3. Select the regions you want to monitor
  4. Your selected regions will appear on the main Status screen

3. Sound & Notification Settings

⚠️ CRITICAL FOR ANDROID USERS
To ensure reliable alert delivery, especially on Android devices, you MUST configure the following settings:

Navigate to Sound Settings:

  1. Tap the "Sounds" tab at the bottom
  2. You'll see the "Reliable Alert Delivery" section

Required Android Permissions:

🔋 Battery Optimization (CRITICAL)
• Tap "Allow Unrestricted" button
• This prevents Android from killing the app to save battery
• Without this, you may miss critical alerts
🔕 Do Not Disturb Access
• Tap "Allow DND Access" button
• This allows alerts to sound even when your phone is on silent
• Essential for receiving alerts during meetings or sleep
📱 Full-Screen Permission (Android 14+) - CRITICAL FOR SAFETY CHECKS
• Tap "Grant Full-Screen Permission" button
• REQUIRED for Safety Check alerts to appear over the lock screen
• ESSENTIAL - Without this, you won't receive safety check requests from your administrator
• Critical for emergency confirmations
⚡ Auto-Start (Optional but Recommended)
• Tap "Enable Auto-Start" button
• Particularly important for Xiaomi, Huawei, and other custom Android brands
• Ensures the app starts automatically after device restart

4. Sound Configuration

Configure which alert types you want to hear:

Using the App

Status Screen (Main Dashboard)

SOS Function

  1. Tap the red "SOS" button (center of bottom navigation)
  2. Grant location permission when prompted
  3. Your SOS signal will be sent with your coordinates
  4. Your security officer can see your SOS alert with location

  1. Tap the notification bell icon in the top-right
  2. View your notification history

Troubleshooting

Not Receiving Alerts?

For Android Users - Check These Settings:
  1. Go to Sound Settings tab
  2. Verify all permissions are granted:
    • Battery Optimization: Should show "Allowed"
    • DND Access: Should show "Allowed"
    • Full-Screen Permission: Should show "Granted" (CRITICAL for Safety Checks)
  3. Check System Settings:
    • Go to Settings > Apps > Fieldguard > Notifications
    • Ensure notifications are enabled
    • Check that all notification categories are enabled
  4. Battery Settings:
    • Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization
    • Find Fieldguard and set to "Don't optimize" or "Unrestricted"
  5. Do Not Disturb:
    • Go to Settings > Sound > Do Not Disturb
    • Ensure Fieldguard is allowed to bypass DND
  6. Auto-Start (for Xiaomi/Huawei):
    • Go to Settings > Apps > Fieldguard > Auto-start
    • Enable auto-start for Fieldguard

  4. Test your settings - The app will show you if permissions need attention
  5. Keep your subscription active - Expired subscriptions stop alert delivery
  6. Check your internet connection - Alerts require internet connectivity
